About Mrs. Cotton

Mrs. Cotton graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. As an engineer by trade, she worked for high tech companies such as Intel Corporation and Hewlett Packard (HP) before transitioning into Teaching Math full time with the Los Angeles Unified School District 18+ years ago. Mrs. Cotton has a passion for teaching and has additional training in gifted education. She has earned teaching credentials in Secondary Mathematics as well as 3 Career in Technical Education (CTE) teaching Credentials. Her Credentials include Mathematics, Engineering, Architecture, Manufacturing, Product Development, Information and Communication Technologies. Mrs. Cotton has a love of learning and joined the George K Porter Middle School family in 2019. In Mrs. Cotton’s class, students learn, grow and thrive with a little inspiration, support and Porter P.R.I.D.E.
