About Mrs. Cutler
Hello and welcome!
Thanks for stopping by! My name is Tali Cutler, and I am the Magnet Coordinator at George K. Porter Middle School. Prior to being at Porter, I’ve dedicated 12 years to teaching 8th grade science at a large magnet middle school in Los Angeles. I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and I am thrilled to be part of the Porter community, bringing my passion for promoting academic excellence.
As the Magnet Coordinator, I oversee the Gifted Magnet, Magnet for Innovative Thinking (MIT), and School for Advanced Studies (SAS), ensuring that each program provides thematic, engaging, high-quality instruction that challenges students in a supportive and welcoming environment. I also serve as the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Coordinator, managing GATE referrals, writing the annual GATE report, educating parents about GATE, and working with teachers to support their professional development.
What I enjoy most about my role is the opportunity to connect and collaborate with all stakeholders—students, families, teachers, staff, and community members. I am excited to be part of such a dynamic and welcoming community, and I look forward to helping our students reach their full potential.
