Join us for our annual Harvest Fest on Tuesday, November 18, 2025! Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with games, music, and more. Entrance is free—hot dogs and other food will be available for purchase. We hope to see you there!

New Security Door Procedures

MIT 6th Grade Fall PBL Showcase Thursday, 12/11/25 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Our 6th grade Magnet for Innovative Thinking students are excited to showcase their Fall Project Based Learning presentations titled “Not Waiting on the World to Change.” Students have been exploring how individual action can inspire change in others, identifying real issues on campus, and designing meaningful solutions to improve the Porter experience.
Presentations will take place on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM in Trojan Hall, the Library, and Room 14. A small group of invited parents and staff will participate as panelists, offering feedback to student teams as they share their ideas and solutions.
If you are interested in serving as a panelist, please complete the parent interest form by November 17, 2025. See flyer for details.

George K. Porter MS has several instructional programs to meet the needs of our diverse student body.  This includes our residential school, School for Advanced Studies, Gifted and High Ability Magnet, and our new magnet program for all students, the Magnet for Innovative Thinking.

Porter Gifted/High Achieving Magnet Middle School will work toward mastery of content area standards and develop academic and social skills that will enable them to become productive members of our ever-changing multiculturally diverse, technologically advancing society.
