George K. Porter has been named a 2026 California Distinguished School by the California Department of Education!
George K. Porter was recognized in two categories:
• Exemplary High Achievers – Schools performing among the highest in the state academically
• Achievement Gap Closers – Schools demonstrating significant progress for historically underserved student groups

Visit LAUSD’s We Are One website if you or your family need assistance or resources including information on virtual school options, transportation, immigration, health, wellness, food, or housing.

Students, looking for a quiet place to do your homework? Need a little help in math or English? Drop into the Porter library every Monday and Wednesday for free tutoring provided by Porter teachers. We hope to see you there!

All 8th grade students will be taking their class Panorama Picture on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 9:30 am. The Panorama Picture will be available for purchase at a later date in our school's Student Store. Email Mr. Behnam, 8th Grade Sponsor, with any questions.
